Devo Darren's Legacy at TELUS

Darren Entwsitle most certainly was not the first CEO of TELUS and he certainly had nothing to do with building that company into what it once was. But he was involved and directly responsible for tearing it down and creating nothing but misery and conflict for those the company employs. That's why we call him DEVO Darren. He represents the devolution of telecommunications in Canada. When all the big telecom corporations in the world are bring back off shore call centres in support of customer service, he is determined to reverse the trend and rape the Canadian economy. He cares nothing about customer service. He only cares about the manufactured price of a paper stock. That's not even mentioning the Ken Birzneck assault or Darren's Brown shirts. If that's not Retro I don't know what is.

Before Entwislte, the CEO was George Petty. He, unlike Darren, had extensive experience in the Telecommunications industry. It was shocking and confusing why Brian Canfield, former CEO and Chairman of the board, got in a fight with Petty and fired him. One employee pointed out the bizarreness of the math. Petty wanted to buy Clearnet for $1.9 billion but Canfield went ballistic and fired him. Then he hires golden boy wonder and lets Darren buy Clearnet for  $6.6 billion. Something just didn't make sense. Before Entwsitle, Canfield was greatly respected having earned his position by working up the ranks. However, his unfailing devotion to Darren's immorality lost a great deal of his respect as did his burning down the house of cards and preventing anyone else following his footsteps and rising through the ranks.

That's one of the inherit problems at TELUS right now and at Canada Post. They don't promote from within any more. They hire people from outside who have no idea how to do the job to boss people around who have been in the trade for 20 years. Entwistle and Moya Greene at Canada Post are bringing confrontation back. It's all about political extremism. Some people are for and some people are against unions no matter what. Some people and some corporations will spend an obscene amount of money just to break a union.

I am the first one to agree that there are pros and cons to a union. Unions need to be democratic and accountable to the people they collect dues from. Yet the passionate obsession to remove all trade unions from the face of the earth at all costs is something I find very suspicious. After all Pastor Niemöller was the one who illustrated that in Germany first they came for the Communists, then they came for the Trade Unionists. That was the beginning of a pattern. I believe trade unions have a right to exist and that people have a right to the union affiliation of their choice. Extermination of all unions is very suspicious indeed.

Being anti union at all costs was Darren's mantra. He coined the phrase, "The Union can fit in or F*ch off!" He used it so often his employees made FIFO Tel hats and were disciplined for ever wearing them. I heard many examples of bizarre stunts he would pull trying to break the union. Locking out B.C. but not locking out Alberta and giving scabs free ipods for crossing the picketline in Alberta are just two examples. Nevertheless, I was shocked to see how strong the picketline in Alberta was during their labour dispute. That is not what Darren was telling the people in B.C. Likewise he was telling people in Alberta that B.C. was "just about ready to cross" which was somewhat bizarre.

Another tactic was mailing individuals copies of his Devil contract directly and circumventing the employee's bargaining unit. I worked for Canada Post at the time and saw some copies return to sender that said "Talk to my Union." These were employees who elected to choose union representation. The Madame Pineau Decision intemized some of the illegal union breaking activities he was directly involved with but that decision was appealed and we see that the deep pockets of the big corporations sold out justice in Canada long ago. That is another bizarre tactic of the anti union at all costs corporations. They will spend obscene amounts of money in court fees just to break a union's savings. That is bad business.

The dream was the day would come when unions would no longer be necessary because in the world of supply and demand, if a company wanted to retain good reliable employees, they had to treat them well and pay them fairly. That day has not yet come at TELUS nor is it seen on the horizon. The practice now is confrontation and misery and that my friend is bad business.

Darren Entwsilte's Caligula era as they call it started at a sales conference in Banff Alberta in the year 2000. That was a shocking introduction to Entiwistle's new world order of immorality. TELUS Idol was a drop in the bucket. The saga continues and is seen at the TELUS Fashion show in the Philippines where all those Canadian jobs were outsourced to. FIFO has been Entwistle's motto from the beginning. At Banff 2000, any of his management with a moral or religious background were offended, harassed and either silenced or forced to leave. He trained his team for one thing and one thing only: decadence.

I could go on for days about how many people he has hurt. I remember one nice woman I met on the picketline and hearing a story of another women who saw Darren in public during the labour dispute. He was out at some restaurant. She took his picture through the window but just wasn't satisfied. She wanted him to know how disgusted she was with him and what he was doing to the company and the country. She banded on the window so he could see her and she gave him the finger. She was fired for that as were a multitude of others for choosing union affiliation during the dispute. Turns out she was the nice woman I met on the picketline and I was forced to ask what is this guy doing to make so many nice people mad?

God will be the one to judge Darren, not me but I will say this - Darren Entwistle is not a moral man. He is not a good leader nor is he competent in the field like George Petty was. He is a good speaker. Unfortunately, his words don't come anywhere near his actions and he has been caught on several occasions in bold faced lies. His passion to censor the Internet will not change that fact. Stealing from working families in Canada and crushing those families' dreams then paying for a sponsored link on Google to come up when people search his name bragging about how much of the company's money he spent on a charity is satanic. It reminds me of the insecurity of the devil and how he uses his wealth to convince the world what a great guy he is. Actions speak louder than words. If he stopped raping the Canadian economy and started treating people who oppose off shore call centres or choose union affiliation better then we would have a very different tale to tell. Unfortunately we don't see that on the horizon because history declares that offenders tend to reofend. Don't they skaterboy?

All we wanted was to go back to the old ways where a company was built with hard work and customer service not plastic paper stocks he sold all the company assets to get a manufactured over inflated price in. Don't tell me it's because landlines are a thing of the past. Shaw provide high speed Internet through landlines, there is no reason TELUS can't through theirs. Oh but Darren is destroying infra structure and removing skilled labour from the company. Right now Brian Canfield and the Board of Directors only care about the value of a paper stock and they care nothing about customer service any more. The advertising, like Darren's bull Sh*t is just poison kool aid that directly contradicts their actions as we see call centres and skilled trades people laid off every day. It is a dark day for Canada and innocent people still suffer.
