Spotlight on AFI:
The Brown shirts are Back!
What is the AFI? That is a hired in union busting security paid to harass picket lines and create conflict during a lockout or strike. AFI have many groups working with and for them. They were brought in to break the union during the Alliant strike in Atlantic Canada. That failed miserably after a very long and confrontational strike. The union held and they gained a no contracting out clause which they did not have prior to that strike. The only thing that AFI did was create conflict and make the strike violent. That is what they are being paid to do here in the TELUS lockout.
AFI can be distinguished from regular security who normally wear white shirts with a crest on the shoulder. The white shirts are under paid professionals who do their job without causing conflicts. It is hard to get in a fight with them because they are polite and professional. Unlike the brown shirts and black shirts of AFI. These guys are very confrontational because that is their mandate. That is why they get paid the big bucks.
Their choice of uniforms are frightening reminders of Hitler's elite squads known as the SA and the SS during the war. The SA were the famous brown shirts. Literally translated from the German, SS means stormtrooper. Isn't that ironic!
The Blackshirts were Mussolini's creation. Hitler adapted this idea into the SS. The SS wore black shirts and were known as the "Protective Squadron". They were notorious for their participation in enforcing Nazi policies which often constituted war crimes and crimes against humanity. It is ironic that Darren Entwistle would devote so much of the shareholders resources to pay so many of these hatchetmen to create conflict all in the name of "self protection".

This is a whole platoon of AFI troops at 1795 Willingdon Burnaby.

These are close ups of an AFI Black Shirt and Brown Shirt patrolling 1795 Willingdon. I received several complaints from some of the woman on the picket line that they were being very intimidating. That is what they are paid to do.

This is the legal picket line at 1795 Willingdon

This is an unmarked AFI vehicle leaving the compound at 1795 Willingdon on August 27 2005. I heard a picket captain ask him why he did not have a TELUS logo on his vehicle and I heard him claim he was exempt from that requirement. Note the white shirt security. No problems with them whatsoever. They are just doing their job to keep the peace. AFI are paid to break the peace. That is a lot of the shareholders resources going up in smoke.

This is an unmarked AFI vehicle leaving the compound at 7000 Lougheed Hwy on August 27 2005. Again no logo was displayed.

This is AFI in Surrey parked right across the street from the picket line with the sole intent of filming and harassing them. Note that this vehicle is properly marked while the Black and Brown Shirts claim they are exempt because they are "Covert Surveillance". Covert Surveillance?? They aren't the FBI or internal TELUS investigations!
Speaking if FBI, how about that FBIG firm AFI hired?

They wanna be FBI but they're not.

Just like G-Unit or shall we say G-Unot.
FBI...G, FBI-Not!

FBIG in Surrey. This guy was obnoxious. Maybe FBIG means Big Fig Newton.
Is that really what he's eating for lunch?
I guess it's better than donuts
More shots of AFI in Edmonton filming their every move

It's the million dollar hand off.
Are they really paid more than the BC Lions?
This is a much better resource for the shareholders money.
Where have all the profits gone? Long time passing... Maybe they spent it on Entwistle's new jet to fly the TELUS Idol Team to Paris to see Moulin Rouge. Naw, they'd never do something that stupid, would they? The company used to own two planes to fly reps around to save on airfare. How did selling those planes and buying a private jet for Entwistle save the company money? Do shareholders have a say in these expenditures?
